چکیده :
In this paper, a synchronous and asynchronous quaternary counter is proposed, designed, and simulated using 32nm-CNTFET technology. The main idea is to utilize T-type quaternary flip-flops with all QNAND gates. Based on the expected performance, a new quaternary Successor, Predecessor and QNAND gate structure is introduced. The T-type quaternary flip-flop structure is also different from the binary type, with a novel design being proposed. A new design for both synchronous and asynchronous Up/Down quaternary counters is presented. In the design of the blocks, the significant effort has been made to achieve high speed and low power consumption. The final structure for a 4-bit four-level counter has been simulated, and by replicating the blocks, it is easy to extend the counter to more bits. Simulations were carried out using 32nm-CNTFET technology and Hspice2019 tool.
