چکیده :
In this paper, we propose a novel algorithm for processing acoustic signals in cochlear implants that is asynchronous and low power. Our algorithm stimulates the electrodes based on the frequency of the input sound signal and identifies its peaks and troughs. The algorithm behaves in such a way that until a peak or trough is identified, the subsequent blocks do not consume power. For example, the analog-to-digital converter is turned off until a peak or trough is detected. This ensures that the power consumption is proportional to the input sound signal and significantly lower compared to algorithms that continuously operate the entire system. Our approach has the potential to improve the perception of sound in cochlear implants and reduce power consumption, which are both important considerations in this field. We present simulation results to demonstrate the effectiveness of our algorithm in processing acoustic signals for cochlear implants.
