چکیده :
This paper introduces a novel two-stage dynamic-biased common-mode insensitive comparator designed for low-voltage applications. The design allows for unrestricted evaluation of input signals across a wide range of common-mode voltages. A key feature of our approach is the dynamic biasing method, which eliminates the need to full discharging of capacitor, thereby significantly lowering power usage and reducing the comparator's delay. Both the proposed comparator and a traditional single-stage comparator are implemented using standard 180nm CMOS technology. Post-layout simulations confirm that our comparator outperforms the conventional single-stage comparator, achieving over 80% improvement in delay and more than 28% reduction in energy consumption. This makes our circuit an excellent candidate for various applications, including successive approximation registers analog-to-digital converters (SAR ADCs), biomedical implants, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices.
