A Low-Noise Amplifier with Bandwidth Extension and Noise Cancellation for 5G Receivers

چکیده :
This paper proposes a wideband Low-Noise amplifier (LNA) with low power consumption for 5G receiver frontends. The presented LNA is a two-stage amplifier to obtain sufficient gain over the wide frequency range from 1 GHz to 6 GHz. The proposed LNA has been simulated in a standard TSMC 0.13 μm CMOS process using ADS. It achieves a minimum Noise Figure (NF) of 2.61 dB by using a novel noise-cancellation scheme. Also, a new technique has been proposed to improve the input matching and the maximum S11 is almost -8 dB over the specified frequency range. The LNA dissipates total power of 6.93 mW from a single 1.2-V supply voltage. Moreover, a new structure and a novel method have been proposed to implement the LNA which result in wide bandwidth for S21. The simulation results prove that the LNA has a relatively flat gain with the maximum S21 of 15.8 dB. The two-tone test shows that the IIP3 is approximately equal to 1.35 dBm.
