چکیده :
Abstract— This paper presents the design of a high-speed dynamic comparator featuring a rail-to-rail input range, capable of delivering stable and accurate operation across the full common-mode voltage range from 0 V to 1.8 V. Designed in 180 nm CMOS technology, the proposed comparator achieves a minimum detectable input differential of ±1 mV while operating at a clock frequency of 1 GHz. The architecture is broadly applicable to various analog-to-digital converter (ADC) topologies and is specifically optimized for successive approximation register (SAR) ADCs employing capacitive digital-to-analog converters (DACs) with unidirectional switching schemes. Comprehensive simulations and comparative evaluations with state-of-the-art designs demonstrate that the proposed structure offers an effective solution for systems requiring high speed, high resolution, and full input voltage range compatibility. This design addresses key challenges in low-voltage comparator design and provides a robust option for integration in modern mixed-signal systems and low-power analog-to-digital interfaces.
