چکیده :
Cholera, an acute diarrheal disease caused by Vibrio Cholerae (VC) bacterium, remains a global health threat, especially in regions with poor sanitation. Rapid, on-site detection is crucial for curbing outbreaks, yet traditional methods are time-consuming and lab-dependent. Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) biosensors emerge as a transformative solution, enabling real-time, label-free pathogen detection with high sensitivity. By exciting electron oscillations at a metal-dielectric interface, SPR measures refractive index shifts from bacterial binding, producing a detectable resonance angle dip. This review explores cutting-edge SPR platforms, from prism-based to nanomaterial-enhanced systems, for portable, field-deployable cholera monitoring. These advances promise to revolutionize outbreak response through point-of-care diagnostics, water safety testing, and public health surveillance.
