چکیده :
This paper presents the design of an on-chip boost converter for portable systems, operating with a 1.8 V input and providing a 3.3 V output. In contrast to many conventional boost converters, the proposed design eliminates the need for off-chip inductors and capacitors by operating at a high switching frequency, which significantly reduces the required values of inductance and capacitance. The inductor is implemented using the bond-wire technique, and the capacitor, due to its sensitivity, is integrated on-chip through dedicated design methodologies. In the proposed boost converter design, critical parameters such as power consumption, silicon area, and response time have been optimized to meet the stringent requirements of portable applications. The proposed converter achieves an output voltage ripple of 40 mV at maximum load current, 70 mA, and delivers up to 230 mW of output power.
