Design of thermo-optic phase shifter in silicon nitride waveguide with focus on Heater dimensions

چکیده :
In this paper, the effect of heater dimensions on the performance of thermo-optic phase shifters is presented. The heater dimensions have a significant impact on the temperature and power consumption in the phase shifter. The impact of changing the width, length, and thickness of the heater is investigated. By reducing the heater width from 8 μm to 2 μm, the power consumption is reduced by 42%. The power consumption, voltage, current, and current density have been investigated for various heater dimensions. The results of these findings can help in the more optimal design of thermo-optic shifters and increase the efficiency of optical systems.
